Helen Ruth (Boring) Hoy
Age 89, of Canton, passed away Sunday morning in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Braddock, PA, whose parents were Benjamin F. and Helen Lambrisky Boring, and had been a Canton resident since 1923. She was a 1939 graduate of McKinley High School. Helen retired in 1982 from the Stark County District Library where she was a cataloguer, previously having sold World Book Encyclopedias for a few years, and also worked at Aultman Hospital. She was a member of Perry Christian Boring, Goldie Cowan and Leona Boring. Survived by her husband, Harrison "Harry" G. Hoy, with whom she would have celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on Feb. 8th; Church. Preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Jack, Paul, and Blair three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and James Hall, of North Canton, Linda and Robert Yohn, of Massillon, and Beth and Rev. Shane Crawford, of Missoula, MT; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Linda Hoy, of Quakertown, PA, Richard and Jackie Hoy, of Richville, and Timothy Hoy and his fiancee, Donna Matako, of East Sparta; one sister, Doris Cody, of Massillon; one brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Pearl Boring, of North Canton; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren , and one great-great-granddaughter. Services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with her son-in-law, Rev. Shane Crawford officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 10-11 a.m. before the service.
