Helen M. Helaney

Age 86, of Canton, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018.  She was born June 14, 1931 in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Roger and Florence Marie (McCamant) Dieringer, resided here until moving to Omaha for a number of years and then came back to Waynesburg.  Helen was a 1949 graduate of Waynesburg High School and was a member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church.  Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace G. Helaney, on July 9, 2012, and a brother and sister, Donald Dieringer and Barbara Pontones.  She is survived by her son, Jeff (Michele) Helaney, and a granddaughter, Paige Helaney, all of Omaha, NE; two sisters, Edna Dieringer and Iva Campana, and a brother, Roger Dieringer; also numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.   A Memorial service will  be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor Ken Reinhold officiating.  Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery.  The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
