Helen Tirabassi Farber
Age 85, of Waynesburg, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023. She was born Feb. 25, 1938 in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Jack and Anna (D'Agostino) Tirabassi and step-father, James Mastroine, and was a life resident. Helen was a 1956 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. She retired in August of 2008 from M & M Market in Dover after 20 years' service, and previously worked at Waynesburg Foods and Colton Hardware. She was a life member of St. James Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by nine sisters and brothers, Mary Policaro, Sue Romano, Betty DiDente, Nellie Churilla, Mary Jane Markino, Bill Mastroine, Tony Mastroine, Jack "Tony" Tirabassi, Palmer "Pete" Tirabassi, and a grand-daughter-in-law, Tiffany Farber. She is survived by a daughter and son, Mary Beth Farber and Joseph (Laurie) Farber; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Joseph A. (Melinda) Farber, Joshua Farber and his son, Joshua, Nicholas Farber, Kathleen (Gary) Kinsinger, and their children, Carson, Chloe, and Scarlett, and N. Joseph Farber; a brother, James (Diane) Mastroine, and a sister-in-law, Theresa Tirabassi and a brother-in-law, James Markino; several nieces and nephews, including Denny DiDente, who were so helpful to Helen; and her long-time best friends, Wilma Berry, Mary Boron, and Frances Dierick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Zamary as Celebrant. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia. Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen's memory may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 400 W. Lisbon St., Waynesburg, OH 44688. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
