Helen D. Bitzel Age 89, of Waynesburg, passed away Sat. morning in The Laurels of Massillon. She was born in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Criscuoli) Bitzel, and was a life resident. Helen was a 1941 graduate of Waynesburg High School, and retired from Whitacre-Greer Fireproofing Co., after over 40 years service, where she was a secretary. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and Sandy Valley Chapter of A.A.R.P. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Theresa, Donna, Daniel, and Reno Bitzel. Survived by two nephews and four nieces, Donald (Mary) Bitzel, John (Linda) Bitzel, Julia Bitzel, Karen Karoscik, all of Lancaster, Mary Ann Coyne, of Massillon, and Theresa Marie Bitzel, of Columbus; also several great-nieces and great-nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Zamary as Celebrant. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery.
