Hazel M. Moffett
Age 89, of Magnolia, passed away Tuesday evening in Park Village Health Care Center. She was born in Magnolia, a daughter of the late Webster and Bertha Weaver Howenstine, and was a life resident of the Magnolia/East Sparta area. Hazel was a 1937 graduate of East Sparta High School. She was a member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church in Sandyville, and the Antique Auto Club of America. Preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers, Mary Norris, Ruth Farber, Velma Mathey, Carl, Jay, Frank and Glenn Howenstine. Survived by her husband, James L. Moffett, with whom she would have celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary on June 29th; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Robert Hunter, of Alliance; one son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Judith Moffett, of Ashland, OH; one brother and sister-in-law, Milan and Mary Ellen Howenstine, of Jupiter, FL; four grandchildren, Julie Rine, of East Rochester, Jodie Moffett, of Columbus, OH, Kyle Kocher, of Hartville, and Jeffrey Hunter, of Sunnyvale, CA; one great-granddaughter, Jamie Rine, of East Rochester. Services will be conducted Sat. at 11 a.m. in Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor John Paul Maroni officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia and Sat. 10-11 a.m. at the church.
