Obituary

Harrison "Harry" G. Hoy Age 94, of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening at his son's home in Massillon. He was born in Pleasant City, OH, a son of the late Harry and Ada (Cooper) Hoy, and had been a Canton resident many years. Harry retired in 1972 from The Timken Co., after 35 years and eight months service, where he was an overhead crane operator. He was a member of Perry Christian Church, American Legion Post #888 in Delaware, OH, and the AARP. Harry served proudly in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Helen Ruth Hoy, on Jan. 9, 2011, and two sisters, Areba Moore and Mae Fry. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and James Hall, of North Canton, Linda and Robert Yohn, of Massillon, and Beth and Rev. Shane Crawford, of Charleston, SC; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Linda Hoy, of Charlotte, NC, Richard and Jackie Hoy, of Massillon, and Timothy Hoy and Donna Matako, of C anal Fulton; one sister, Ruth Budrow, of Canton; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with his son-in-law, Rev. Shane Crawford officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday 10-11 a.m. before the service.
