HAROLD V. SMITH, Age 89, of Canton, passed away Thur. morning in Canton Regency. Born in Canton, a son of the late Paul Smith and Irene (Dillon) Cunningham, he was raised in Louisville and spent time between Pine Island, St. James City, FL and also at Springwood Camp Club in Canton for many years. Harold retired from Hercules Motors after 30 years service where he was a machinist's assistant. He served with the U.S. Army during WW II, attended Pine Island Christian Church and was a member of Massillon American Legion Post #221. Preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Dean, Kenneth and Glenn Smith and Marilyn Tittle. Survived his wife, Eileen Smith, with whom he would have celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary on Apr. 12th of this year, one sister-in-law, Pauline Smith, of North Canton, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Mon. at 12 Noon in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Raymond Stanley officiating. Interment in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call Mon. one hour before the service, from 11a.m. - 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Smith's name may be made to the American Heart Association.
