Hannah B. Bethel

Age 87, a resident of the Canton Christian Home, passed away there Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016.  She was born in Colerain Township, OH, a daughter of the late Leonard and Rosa (Wheeler) Pittman, resided at the Christian Home since 2008, previously Sandyville 56 years.  Hannah retired in 2008 from Giant Eagle in Bolivar after over 15 years service, where she was a cashier, and previously had worked at James IGA and the Crossroads Supermarket where she was secretary and cashier.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Bethel, on Feb. 3, 1984, two brothers, Alfred and George Pittman, a grandson, Jim Roush, and a son-in-law, Lewis Wade.  She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jane and James Phares, of Canton, and Judy Wade, of Sandyville; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Christy and Jim Valentine and their daughter, Jessica, and Jason Phares.  Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor Miguel A.
