Gwendolyn L. "Gwenny" Clevenger
Age 97, a resident of The Canton Regency, passed away Sunday morning. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Herbert and Evelyn Herron Hufler, and was a life resident. Gwenny was a 1930 graduate of McKinley High School and attended Mount Union College from 1930-32. She was an over 50 year member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, and also a member of Delta Chapter #539, Order of Eastern Star, DAR, and Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at Mount Union College. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, O.L. "Bud" Clevenger, on Jan. 2, 1995, a son, Ted B. Clevenger, on Oct. 3, 2000, and her twin sister, Beatrice "Beatie" Crowl, on Nov. 9, 1997. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, R.D. "Denny" and Susan Clevenger, of Canton; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, Christine Barnes and her husband, Stanley, and their sons, Kyle and Collin, of Canton, Brian Clevenger and his wife, Valorie, and their children, Savannah, Charlotte, and Chance, of North Canton, Christopher Clevenger and his wife, Julie, and their children, Jordan and Olivia, and Scott Clevenger and his wife, Nicole, and their daughter, Madden, all of Upper Arlington.. Services will be conducted Sat. at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Richard H. Scherpenisse officiating. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Sat. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Clevenger's memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Suite 310, 500 Rockside Rd., Independence, OH 44131.
