Guy E. Smoot,

Age 84, of East Sparta, passed away Sun., Dec. 4, 2022.  He was born Feb. 28th, 1938, in Beckley, WV, a son of the late Seibert and Ruby (Gunnoe) Smoot.  Guy served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, from 1961-1963 and retired as a mason from Donald Smoot Masonry Co.  He had attended Asbury United Methodist Church and Sandy Valley Church of God.  Preceded in death by his wife, Karen Smoot, on May 21, 2016; one sister, Helen Carte; and five brothers, Boyd, Clyde, Kenneth "Joe," Donald and Dave Smoot.  Survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jud (Karen) Smoot, and Jonathan Smoot; one sister, Norma McNutt; one brother, Shirley "Red" Smoot; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Services will be held Mon., Dec. 12, at 11 am in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Smith officiating.  Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour before the service, from 10-11 am, in the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Guy's memory may be made to: Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.
