Gust G. Douglas Age 71, of Canton, passed away Friday afternoon in Astoria Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born in Canton, a son of the late George and Anna Nicholas Douglas, and was a life resident. Gust was retired from Republic Steel Corp. in Massillon, after over 30 years service, where he worked on the steel press. He was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Beverly A. Douglas, on June 4, 2009. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacie and Ted Whitacre, of North Canton, and Gina and Tom Drescher, of Canton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, George Douglas, and Dan and Shari Douglas, all of Canton; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson, Danielle Hostler and her husband, Joe, and their son Jack Joseph, Stephanie, Melissa and Nicholas Drescher, Alyssa, Samantha, Taryn, Rocky, and Corry Douglas; and his twin sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Ray Crosser, of Lisbon, OH. Services will be held Wed. at 11 a.m. in St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment in West Lawn Cemetery.
