Gregory Dean “Champ” Barrino Jr., age 45, of Malvern passed away on August 30, 2026. He was born in Canton on April 13, 1981, son to Gregory Barrino Sr. and Leslie McGhee-Roundtree. Champ was a graduate of Stadium High School of Tacoma, Washington. He enjoyed fishing but his true love was music. He was known for performing and composing his own music. Champ was kindhearted and always tried helping people. He was loved by many. He would light up any room with his compassion and smile. Champ loved his family wholeheartedly; especially his kids, nieces and nephews.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children Greg Lake, Egypt Barrino, and Viviana Barrino; his mother Leslie (Jonathon) McGhee-Roundtree; his father Gregory (Renee) Barrino Sr.; sister Latoia (Ray) Strain; brother Corey Thompson; and a host of niece, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Obie and Jean Jenkins Jr., William and Della Lee Barrino; great-grandparents Obie and Novella Jenkins Sr., and Jeff and Annie Miles; and uncle Jobie Jenkins.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at First Baptist Church (311 S. Carrollton St., Malvern, OH, 44644). A repass will follow the service. Condolences can be sent to the church.
