Grant E. Ashby, Sr. Age 67, of Waynesburg, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011. He was born in Mountain Lake Park, MD, a son of the late Ernest Lee and Nellie Felton Ashby, and had been a Waynesburg resident since 1952. Grant retired in 1983 from B & W, after 18 years service, where he was a supervisor. He also was retired from C.N.D. Technologies in Canton, where he was a fabricator and supervisor, and previously was a supervisor for both LMS Design for 12 years and Custom Design. Preceded in death by a brother, James Ashby. Survived by his wife, Sharon N. Ashby; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angel and Donnie Massingill, and their daughters, Tiffany and Courtney, Robin and Johnny Hodgson, and their sons, Clay, Christopher and Kyle, his son and daughter-in-law, Grant Ernest and Renee' Ashby, Jr., and their son, Grant Ernest Ashby III, all of North Carolina; a step-daughter, and her husband, Jennifer and Ed Koch, and their children, Cheyanne, Megan, Chaz, and Baylee, of Carrollton; a step-son, Virgil Brink and his daughter, Madalyn, of Florida; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linnie and Walt Seaburn, of Paris, OH, and Naomi Hamilton, of Waynesburg. His grandchildren were very special and meant everything to him. Friends may call Wed. 6-7 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.
