Grace E. Zahler Age 82, of Canton, passed away Sunday morning in Aultman Hospital. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Vern and Wilma (Roof) Wallace, was raised in East Canton, and resided in Canton since 1951. Grace was a 1948 graduate of East Canton High School and a 1951 graduate of the Aultman School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and was retired from Republic Steel where she was an Industrial Nurse, and she also had been a private duty Nurse and worked at a nursing home. Grace was a member of Church of the Lakes, United Methodist, and the Aultman Nurses Alumni Association. She had been very involved with the Aultman Blood Program. Preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Fred A. Zahler, on Aug. 24, 1997, and a sister, Joan Toalston. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and William Myers, of Medina, and Ruth and David Burnett, of West Linn, OR; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Zahler, of Biloxi, MS, Douglas and Maureen Zahler, of Jackson Township, and Jeffrey Zahler, of Canton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Zahler, Emily (Thomas) Mangham, and their daughters, Penelope and Jocelyn, Elizabeth (Mark) Wallace, James Myers, and Lilly Burnett. Services will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in Church of the Lakes, United Methodist with Pastor Bryan George officiating. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 5-7 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home and Sat. 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service.
