Grace Marie Burlingame,
age 85, passed away peacefully Nov. 16th at Allay Senior Care in Canton. She was born in Carrollton to Joseph & Neva (Gamble) McHenry and lived in Canton from childhood to the present. She graduated from Timken High School and retired from the Hoover Company with 25 years service. She and Dale were members of the former Floyd Hughes VFW Post 693, Canton American Legion Post 44, and North Canton Eagles Aerie 2223, where she was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary. Grace worked outside the home until retirement, but she always had the energy to be a devoted wife and homemaker, and a selfless and loving mother and matriarch to three generations. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John and James McHenry, sister Cleo Malcuit, and recently by her husband of 52 years, Dale. Grace is survived by her brother Richard McHenry, of Canton; her son Joseph Burlingame, of Canton; her grandchildren, Jonah Burlingame and his wife Mona, of San Francisco, Eva Findlay of Canton, and Anthony Burlingame and his wife Kori, of Westerville; and by three great-grandchildren, Andrea, Kyle, and Julia. The family can never adequately thank the wonderful caregivers at Allay for the love, kindness, and patience they showed Grace during the most painful and difficult time of her life. And our heartfelt thanks to the caring and thoughtful people at Crossroads Hospice for keeping her comfortable and beautiful in her last days. There will be no funeral, however, friends may call Thur. from 6-8 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
