Gloria M. Marker Age 87, of North Canton, passed over in her home Thursday, November 3, 2011, to be with her husband JR. Gloria was born in Louisville, Ohio, May 16, 1924 to the late Pauline (Gilbert) Newberry and William Newberry. Though she was an only child, she had the support of growing up with eleven aunts and uncles of the Gilbert Family. She married her late husband Junior R. Marker 63 years ago. She is survived by three sons and two daughter-in-laws: Ted W. and Armonde R. Marker of Deer Park, TX, Todd M. and Christie R. Marker of Delaware, OH, and Harold S. Marker of North Canton, OH, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was a lifelong resident of Stark County and a 1942 graduate of McKinley High School. She was employed for six years by the Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a PBX supervisor. Gloria also worked at Corbitt's Flowers. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton. She enjoyed many years of travel with the Rolling Squares, a square dance travel trailer club. Her life-long passion, though, was flower arranging and crafts. Gloria was founder of the Four Seasons Garden Club and a 54 year member. Through the Canton Garden Center, she worked on many beautification projects and charity events. She loved to share her passion by giving hands-on classes in a wide variety of flower arranging and crafts making for over 50 years. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at 3 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Msgr. James A. Clarke officiating. Friends may call Sunday 1-3 p.m. before the service.
