Gloria Castellucci Komer

Age 67, of Malvern, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024.  She was born May 6, 1957 in Canton, a daughter of James and Betty (Bitzel) Castellucci. She was a 1975 graduate of St. Edward High School in Malvern.  Gloria graduated from Stark State College with a Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree, Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and from Akron University with a MBA Degree in Management.  Gloria had been an Engineer for Redicon Corporation for 20 years, and a Professor at Stark State College for 20 years teaching Economics and Operations Management.  She was a member of both St. Michaels and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. But mainly her passions were her family and teaching.

Surviving besides her parents, is her husband, John M. Komer, with whom she celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary on May 25th this year; two daughters, Dr. Maria Komer White, her husband, Dr. Daniel White, and daughter, Sloane Mary White; and Monica Komer. One sister and two brothers, Carol (Dan) Miller, Charlie (Julie) Castellucci, and Ralph Castellucci.  Gloria's family extends a special thank you to Vicki Fleming, who helped provide exceptional care for Gloria and has become family.

Gloria took the greatest joy in sharing her home at Lake Mohawk with her family and friends, especially her daughters, nieces and nephews, friends of friends and sometimes even strangers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Victor Cinson as Celebrant.  Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia, where a Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., and Sat. 10-11 a.m. at the church before the Mass.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in memory of Gloria to the Cleveland Clinic's Brain Tumor Center.  Gifts can be sent to: Cleveland Clinic Philanthropy Institute, PO Box 931517, Cleveland, OH  44193.
