Glen L. McDade

Age 85, of East Sparta, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2022.  He was born April 8, 1937 in Canton, a son of the late Okey and Cressa (Gill) McDade, and was a life resident of East Sparta.  Glen was a 1956 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, and retired in 1999 from AEP, after 28 ½ years' service, where he was a mechanic.  He had attended East Sparta Christian Church in his younger years and was a member of the AEP Retirees.

In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers, Mary Alice McDade, Homer, Walter, Paul, Edward, Andy, and Jack McDade.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. McDade, with whom he celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary on June 16th; five children, Cheryl and Larry Burk, Cindy Edwards, Carla and Rich Townsend, Glen P. "Butch" and Twila McDade, and Gary W. McDade and Lynn Norton; a sister-in-law, Terrace McDade; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and one soon to be born; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia, with Keith Kull officiating.  Friends may call Thursday one hour before the service from 10-11 a.m.  Interment will be in Melscheimer Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
