Geraldine V. Sickafoose
Age 89, of Magnolia, passed away Friday evening in Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Chester and Leona (Howell) Shaw, and had been a resident of the Magnolia area most of her life. Geraldine was a 1941 graduate of McKinley High School. She retired in Dec. of 1983 from the U. S. Postal Service, after 14 years' service, where she was a clerk at the Magnolia Post Office. Geraldine was a member of First Christian Church in Canton, Bolivar Chapter #368, Order of Eastern Star, the A.A.R.P., and a life member of the Auxiliary of the Stark County Power Squadron. Preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, J. C. Sickafoose, on July 19, 1983, two grandsons, Nicholas Otey and Ricky Dale "J.C." Sickafoose, and two sons-in-law, Randy Litman and Kevin Amos. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ed Kirkman, of Magnolia; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Debbie Sickafoose, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Stanton and Joy Sickafoose, of North Canton, Dennis and Cathy Sickafoose, of Massillon, and Ricky and Debbie Sickafoose, of Lanexa, VA; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Murray Rosenblatt, of Chicago, IL; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Scott Rosen officiating. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery.
