Geraldine "Gerry" M. Hamilton

Age 87 of Waynesburg

Passed away peacefully Sunday, January 14, 2018.  Born November 14, 1930 in Waynesburg where she resided all of her life, daughter of the late Ross and Catherine (Pittsmento) Clarico.  Gerry was a 1949 graduate of Waynesburg High School and a member of the St James Catholic Church.

Gerry worked for Dr. Verl Z. Garster from 1949 until his death in 1954.  She bowled for 40 years, enjoyed playing cards with her card club "gang" (60 years), was an avid reader, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers (while living on a street full of Cleveland Browns fans).  She enjoyed volunteering for the St James School Fundraisers with the St James Ladies making candy, meatballs, and other food fund raising items; in addition to serving at St James' Dinners.

Gerry is survived by her children, Mark (Norma) Hamilton of Berea Ohio and Holli Hamilton of Canton Ohio; one grand-daughter, Christina M. Hamilton of Phoenix Arizona; one brother, Donald "Doc" (Margot) Clarico of Berea Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout Ohio, Florida, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.  Her nieces - Linda Beadnell (DeMatteis), Cathy Minor (DeMatteis), and Sister Benita (DeMatteis) were a big part of her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Huddy" Hamilton whom she married May 22 1954, sister, Lena (Joe) DeMatteis, brother, Tony (Shirley) Clarico, brother, Joe (Pat) Clarico, brother, Santino Clarico, and sister, Helen (Stan) Vozar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St James Catholic Church with Fr Joseph Zamary as Celebrant.  Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday January 18, 2018 between 6-8 p,m, at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gerry's memory may be made to St James School, 400 W Lisbon St, Waynesburg Ohio 44688.
