Gerald D. Edwards Age 66, of New Philadelphia, passed away Friday afternoon in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Philadelphia, a son of Irene (Clarke) Edwards, of Mineral City and the late Dallas Edwards, and was a life resident of this area. Gerald had been custodian at St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover, and was a member of Mineral City United Methodist Church. Surviving besides his mother is his daughter, Melissa Patterson and Troy Dupler, of New Philadelphia; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kevin and April Edwards and Jason Edwards, all of Dover; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Charity and David Metzger, of New Philadelphia; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ronald Edwards, and Terry and Mary Edwards, all of Mineral City. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens with Pastor Bob Smith officiating. There are no calling hours.
