Obituary

George F. Pittman

Age 70, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in Union Hospital.  He was born in Dover, a son of the late Raymond and Esther (Ickes) Pittman, and was a Mineral City resident most of his life.  George retired from Tusky Valley Local Schools, after 10 years service, where he was a custodian at Mineral City Elementary School. He attended Wooster Highway Church of God, was an avid deer hunter, and had been a member of Carr-Bailey American Legion Post #519.  George was a veteran of the U. S. Army.  Preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie J. Pittman, on Nov. 20, 2009, a sister, Carol Davis, and brothers Jim and Bryce Pittman.  Survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Renee and Carl Beatty, and Rhonda Pittman, all of Mineral City, Rebecca and Richard Wassem, of Dover, and Roberta Pittman, of Massillon; one son, Raymond Pittman, of Uhrichsville; and six grandchildren.  Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Brother Kenneth Yoder officiating.  Interment in German Cemetery with Military Honors.  Friends may call Tuesday 10-11 a.m. before the service.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes
