George T. Ness, Jr. Age 73, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly Magnolia, passed away Sat. afternoon in Gulfside Regional Hospice. He was born in Unicoi, TN, a son of the late George and Onega (Lewis) Ness, Sr., resided in Magnolia many years until moving to Florida in 1997. George was retired from Gregory Galvanizing in Canton, where he was a scale house attendant in the Shipping & Receiving Dept. He served in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam Conflict. Survived by his wife, Janet (Rider) Ness; preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Ness, on July 4, 1996; also survived by his children, Tammy Ness, of Magnolia; Tom and Kimberly Ness, of Coldwater, MI, Tim and Julie Ness, of Canton South; Tracy O'Connell, of Zephyrhills, James and Lisa Rider, of SC, and Sharon and Jeff Keller, of PA; sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Lloyd, of Kenner, LA. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Steven M. Smith officiating. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.
