George Aguredakes
Age 84, of Canton, passed away early Tuesday morning in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Canton, a son of the late Speros and Amelia Freitat Aguredakes, and was a life resident. George was a 1944 graduate of Timken High School. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. at the Akron-Canton Airport, after 10 years service, where he was an aircraft mechanic. He previously retired from the Norton Company at the airport after almost 30 years service. George was a member of Canton Lodge #60, F. & A.M.; the McKinley Eagles; VFW Post #3747; and the Sports Car Club of America, and had raced cars for over 30 Years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Martha "Janie" and Earl Ledford, Helen Mullen, Cynthia Healy and her fiance, Mike Riffle, and Debbie and George Frenz; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Teresa Aguridakis, and Gary and Shirley Aguredakes, all of Canton; also 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Tom A., Woodson officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. Friends may call Thursday 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
