Gary L. Black

Age 81, of East Sparta, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in the Laurels of Massillon.  He was born in Canton, a son of the late Thayne and Irene (Parker) Black, and was a life resident of East Sparta.  Gary was a 1952 graduate of East Sparta High School.  He retired in 1997 from Summitville Tile Co. in Minerva where he was a foreman, and previously worked at U. S. Ceramic Tile Co. East Sparta over 30 years.  He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  Survived by his wife, Nancy M. Black, with whom he celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary on Jan. 26th; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy and John Wertz, of Fletcher, OK, and Kristin Black, of Galloway, OH; one son and daughter-in-law,  Jeff and Debbie Black, of North Canton; one brother, Zane  Black, of Shreve, OH; and four grandchildren.  Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor J.
