Gale A. "Gaye" Reed

Age 71, of Canton, passed away Wed., Jan. 17, 2018.  She was born Sept. 23, 1946 in Canton, a daughter of the late Gail and Bessie (Costello) Vorhees, resided most of her life in Magnolia, the past 12 years in Canton.  Gaye was a 1964 graduate of Sandy Valley High School.  She had been a hair dresser most of her life starting with her mother in their home, Bea's Beauty Shop.  Gaye had been a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morges and also St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Charles A. Reed, on Jan. 1, 2003.  Gaye is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Jeff Smith, and a grandson, Jared Smith; one sister, Kathie Nesselrode; two brothers-in-law, Rich (Shirley) Reed, and Jim (Sue) Reed; and several nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr.
