Obituary

Frederick H. "Fritz" Stotzer Age 81, of Mineral City, passed away Thursday evening in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Mineral City, a son of the late John and Veronica (Elmerick) Stotzer, and was a life resident of this area. Fritz retired from Whitacre Engineering, after 20 years' service, where he was a truck driver, and he also was employed by Twin Cities Concrete, was a Sohio Distributor, and following retirement he helped at Handy Excavating. He was a member of St. Paul's Community Church in Mineral City, Caldwell Lodge #330, F. & A.M. in Bolivar, and Carr-Bailey American Legion Post #519 in Mineral City. Fritz enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a paratrooper. Preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers, Ida Shaffer, Martha Leeman, Mary Kilchenmann, Clara Vogt, John and Robert Stotzer. Survived by his wife, Janet M. Stotzer, with whom he would have celebrated their 37th Wedding Anniversary on December 6th; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deb and Bruce Widder, of Dover, and Marla and Sean Downs, of Colton, CA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Melissa Stotzer, of Mineral City, and Joe and Shelly Stotzer, of Worthington, OH; four step-children, Sharon and Ed Frederick, of Bolivar, Jeff and Peg Strong, of Grove City, OH, Gregg and Patilyn Strong, of Mineral City, and David and Lisha Strong, of Rock Island, TN; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Grace Specht, Ruth Breniser, Frieda Lieser, and Helen and Lytal Kollar; one brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Gladys Stotzer; a brother-in-law, Ralph Shaffer; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a soon to be born great-grandson; also his beloved dog, Casey. Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Mark Gross officiating. Interment in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover with Military Honors.
