FREDA E. JOHNSTONE,

Age 94, of Mineral City, passed away Wed., Feb. 16, 2022.  She was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Zoarville, a daughter of the late John and Bertha (Clarkston) Westbrook.  Freda was a 1945 graduate of Dover High School and a member of Zoarville Christian Chapel.  She retired from Crown Cork & Seal Co. (formerly Central States Can) after 37 years service as a packer operator.  Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert "Mike" Johnstone on May 25, 1998, son, Robert Johnstone, granddaughter, Christina Kennison, son-in-law, Roger Harman, brothers, Dale and Paul Westbrook, and brothers-in-law, George Hendricks and William Medley.  Survived by three daughters, Vicki (Paul) Patterson, Bernice Harman, and Betty (Victor) Kennison; one daughter-in-law, Susan Johnstone; three sisters, Thelma Medley, Betty (Leonard) Boesger, and Bonnie Hendricks; one sister-in-law, Garnette Westbrook; and 12 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, and 1 step great-great granddaughter.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to Crossroads Hospice, Hennis Care Centre and especially her granddaughter, Kim Wile, for the excellent care given to Freda.  Services will be held Mon. at 1 pm in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev.
