FRANK G. WOODIE,

Age 89, of Rye, NH died Jan. 12, 2014, after a long illness.  Frank was born in Laurel Springs, NC, in 1924, came to the Canton/Louisville area in 1952, and resided in Rye the last 6 ½ years.  He served his country as a soldier in World War II.  As a young man he moved to Ohio where he met his wife of 60 years, Jane Wentz Woodie.  They have two daughters, Mary Ann Woodie Driscoll of New Castle, NH and Sally Woodie Fodero of Greenland, NH. He enjoyed his time spent hunting and fishing with his two son-in-laws Timothy C. Driscoll and Mark D. Fodero. Frank was a doting grandfather to his three granddaughters: Sarah Fodero of Washington, DC, Savannah, and Madeline Fodero of Greenland.  Frank worked as a foreman in the electrical department of Republic Steel, in Canton, Ohio.  He was happiest hunting the grouse covers of southern Ohio with his beloved English pointers. He was an active member in several bird dog clubs and an avid participant and judge in field trials. Frank was predeceased by his sister, Sallie Woodie Freeman, and his two brothers, Claude and Earl Woodie.  He is survived by two sisters, Kathryn Woodie Fox and Isabel Woodie Kasavan.  Friends may call Fri., Jan. 17th from 6-8 pm, at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home in Canton.  A graveside service will be held Sat., Jan. 18th at 11:00 am at the Fairview Cemetery in Fresno, Ohio.
