Frank Howard Turner,

89, passed away on Fr., Jan. 3, 2025 at the Canton Regency.  He was born on June 2, 1935 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to Oran and Glenda Turner.

Frank graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1953 and was drafted in the US Army and served during the Korean War from 1955 to 1957.  He graduated from Kent State University with a BS in Education in 1962 and taught Biology at McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio from 1962 until he retired in 1989.  Frank is a member of North Canton United Methodist Church.

Frank is a member of Canton Lodge #60, F.&A.M., Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton, which he served as Commander in Chief; Coroneted an Honorary 33rd Degree in 2002; All York Rite Bodies; Tadmor Temple; and Nazir Grotto.  He is a Past Associate Bethel Guardian for Jobs Daughters; Past Patron of Legacy Chapter Order of the Eastern Star; Past Master of Lathrop Lodge #676 F.&A.M.; served as District Education Officer of the 21st Masonic District; and served as an advisor for Canton Chapter Order of DeMolay.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Fred, his daughter Shelley Jean Defibaugh, and his granddaughter Katie Scarlett Turner.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara (Mospens) Turner, his daughter Kathy Meeks (John), his son David Turner (Patti) and his son-in-law Tim Defibaugh.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Fri., Jan. 17th, 2025 in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.  Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.  Friends may call Thur. from 5-7 pm in the funeral home.  Masonic Services will be held at 5:45pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank's memory may be made to: Canton Lodge #60, 836 Market Ave N., Canton, OH 44702.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
