Frank W. Sowers,

Age 66, of Canton, passed away Tues., June 25, 2024.  He was born, Oct. 28, 1957, in Warren, a son of the late Frank and Alberta "Birdie" (Higley) Sowers.  Frank graduated from Champion High School in Warren, and from Kent State University.  He retired as both a librarian and teacher from Plain Local School District after 30 years of service.  After retiring, Frank continued his service by substituting in every school district in Stark County and some counties beyond.  An aficionado of historical homes and period antiques, he renovated and furnished an authentic Century Home, his pride and joy.  In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Smearsoll.  He is survived by two brothers, Curt Sowers and Tom Sowers, his nieces, Karen Smearsoll, Melody Sowers, and Albany Edwards, and his nephew, Kevin Smearsoll.  Frank was very proud to have five great-nieces and nephews. Private services will be held in Crown Hill Burial Park in Warren.  The family will hold a Celebration of Life Sat., Aug. 3, 2024, from 12-3 pm, in T.G.I.
