IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frank
Digiacomo
March 19, 1949 – February 8, 2026
Frank Joseph DiGiacomo,
age 76, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Canton, Ohio, Frank was the son of Frank and Mary (Greku) DiGiacomo. He was a graduate of McKinley High School, Class of 1966, and went on to serve his country after being drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his service, Frank was awarded the Purple Heart, a testament to his courage, sacrifice, and dedication to his fellow servicemen.
Following his military service, Frank returned home to Canton, where he built a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and passion. He dedicated more than four decades of his career to Georgia-Pacific in Canton, Ohio, where he worked from 1967 until his retirement in 2009.
Beyond his service and career, Frank was deeply connected to music. He was a drummer for Lord Richie and the Mariners and became a local legend, helping pioneer the rock music scene in the Canton area. His love for music, rhythm, and performance left a lasting impression on those who heard him play and those fortunate enough to know him personally.
Frank was a devoted father and grandfather who took great pride in his family. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa DiGiacomo and Michele DiGiacomo; his sons, Matthew DiGiacomo and Jason DiGiacomo; his grandchildren, Katelyn DiGiacomo, Jace DiGiacomo and Avianna DiGiacomo; and his brother-in-law, Tim Potter. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary (Greku) DiGiacomo, and his sisters, Dolores (Dolly) Potter and Marie Garcia.
Above all else, Frank valued family. He was a steady presence, someone who showed love through actions, dependability, and simply being there when it mattered most. His resilience, humility, and quiet strength will be remembered by all who knew him.
His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, through the music he helped bring to life, and through the many people whose lives he touched along the way.
Services will be private at the family's request. Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
