Flora Jean Carpenter,

beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 31, 2025. She was born on November 23, 1930, and over her 94 years, Flora touched the lives of all who knew her with warmth, kindness, and a joyful spirit.

Flora was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ervin Carpenter, and her cherished daughter, Janet Meurer. She is survived by her loving daughters: Jo Ann Carpenter, Suzanne Carver, and Shelley (John) Fiddler. Flora's legacy lives on through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who carry forward her gentle heart and love for family.

During the past year, Flora was a resident at Bethany Nursing Home, where she found happiness in simple pleasures. She enjoyed playing bingo, creating arts and crafts, and especially treasured visits from her family. Flora was well-known at Bethany for her fondness for the finches in the lobby, often spending hours watching their lively antics. Her seat in the lobby became a welcoming spot, as she greeted every staff member and visitor who came through the door with a smile and a kind word.

In recognition of her warm and welcoming nature, Bethany Nursing Home honored Flora with an official name tag, bestowing upon her the role of "official greeter"—a title she embraced with pride and joy. Flora's genuine kindness and sense of community will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Flora Jean Carpenter will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her cheerful disposition, and her ability to make everyone feel at home. Her legacy of compassion and joy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethany Nursing Home's Art Club, in honor of Flora's love for games, crafts, and community.

Rest in peace, Flora. Your light will continue to shine in the lives of those you touched.
