Obituary

Eva Mae Mather Age 92, of Canton, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, in the Canton Regency. She was born in Altoona, PA, a daughter of the late H. Clair and Grace (Keith) McKee, and had been a Canton resident since 1955. Mae was a 1937 graduate of Altoona High School and a graduate of Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and retired in 1968 from Mercy Medical Center, previously employed many years at Altoona Hospital. Mae had been a member of the former Christ United Methodist Church in Canton and the United Methodist Women of the church, and was now a member of Simpson United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Altoona Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, Ford Retirees, Edgefield A.A.R.P. and a Women's Golf League at Bob-O-Link Golf Club. Mae had volunteered for the first graders at Warstler Elementary School. Survived by her husband, Albert W. Mather, with whom she would have celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on May 23, 2012; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Waltz, of East Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Amy Mather, of Bloomington, IN, and Thad and Sylvia Mather, of Uniontown; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held Wed. at 3 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Conley officiating. Interment in Warstler Cemetery following cremation. Friends may call Wed. one hour before the service from 2-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Mather's memory may be made to the Stark County District Library, North Branch, 189 25th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709.
