Elia Costello
Age 90, of Magnolia, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014, in Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar. She was born in Powhatan Point, OH, a daughter of the late Victor and Nellie (Corsi) Fedeli, and had been a resident of the Canton/Magnolia area most of her life. Elia was a 1941 graduate of Powhatan High School. She retired from Sandy Valley High School, after over 20 years service, where she had been cafeteria manager. Elia was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed golfing in a league at Clearview Golf Club, bowling at East Sparta Recreation, and loved baseball, especially the New Yok Yankees. Preceded in death by her husband, of 33 years, Mike Costello, Feb. 24, 2003, and five sisters and two brothers, Victoria Palomba, Gemma Duplain, Alice Duplain, Lena Fedeli, Clara Jannelli, Victor and Dante Fedeli. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Tom Remark, and Chey and Frank Schubert, and one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kay Costello, all of Magnolia; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, whom she adored and were the love of her life, Bart and Giorgia Remark and their children, Gia and Salvatore, Ryan Remark, Briana Schubert, and Dominic Costello; and one sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Thomas Prestier, of Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Zamary as Celebrant. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 5-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elia's memory may be made to Susan G.
