Eileen G. Smith

Age 96, of Canton, passed away Thursday Jan. 4, 2018.  She was born July 10, 1921, a daughter of the late Irvin and Anna (Kaproski) Froelich, and was a life resident.  She had worked at the Hoover Company and Stark Dry Goods.  Besides her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, John E. "Smitty" Smith on April 13, 2009.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Nancy Smith; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Melinda and John Kushner, and their children, Cassie, and triplets, Jack, Grace, and Lydia, Melissa and Dr. Scott Hunter, and Cherie Dimmerling; also a niece, Sandra Holmes.  Friends may call Sunday 2-3 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.  There will be no formal services.  The family wishes to express their appreciation to the nurses, aides, and administrators at The Inn at Belden Village for their kindness and love they gave to Eileen.  "God Bless You All"  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
