EDWIN L. BURCHELL, SR.,

Age 82, of Sandyville, passed away Jan.1, 2016.  Born in Creighton, PA, a son of the late Edwin and Lydia (Callender) Burchell, he had been a Sandyville resident for 52 years.  He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, retired from Sheffield Steel in Macedonia and attended Sandyville United Methodist Church.  Edwin enjoyed watching sports on t.v., doing woodcrafts, and taking his grandchildren on rides around town on his 4x4 or tractor.  Preceded in death by his son, Martin Burchell, on Nov. 10, 2015, his sister and brother-in-law, Miriam and Guy Phillips, his brother, Laird Burchell, his sister, Cora Ann Burchell, and his daughter-in-law, Beth Burchell.  Survived by his wife, Betty Burchell, with whom he would have celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary on July 21st; one daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Shawn O'Neill; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Byron and Debbie Burchell, Edwin and Marylou Burchell, Jr., Douglas Burchell, and Richard Burchell; his foster son, Kevin Carpenter; 18 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrea, Melissa, Zachary, Leslie, Dana, Courtney, Brandon, Emily, Michael, Natasha, Natalie, James, Misty, Shawn, Josh, Rosebud, and Stephen; and 28 great grandchildren. Services will be held Tues. at 6 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor David Naus and Pastor Steven M.
