Douglas S. Morris

Age 59, of Louisville, passed away Wed., June 21, 2023.  He was born May 6, 1964 in Canton, a son of the late Robert Morris and Patricia (Schaffner) Morris and Jerry Henderson, of Canton, and was a life resident of the Canton area except for thirteen years in Statesville, NC.  Doug was a 1982 graduate of GlenOak High School.  While in Statesville he started a business, Honey-Do Done Right, a home improvement business, because he could do anything. His passion was NASCAR, so he graduated from Pit Instruction Training, becoming a Pit Crew member for several drivers. His favorite was Dale Earnhardt, even though he was not on his pit crew.  Doug also loved animals, especially dogs and wolves.

In addition to his mother Patricia and Jerry Henderson, he is survived by his life companion, Lori "Buck" Mercier; his brother, Steve Morris, and his beloved dog, Cherokee.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Smith, Celebrant, officiating. Friends may call Tuesday 1-2 p.m. before the service.  Interment will be in Warstler Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
