Douglas C. Kemp

Age 78, of Canton, passed away Wed., Oct. 11, 2023.  He was born August 10, 1945 in Canton, a son of the late William and Jayn (Clark) Kemp, and was a life resident except for 15 years in Columbus. Doug was a 1963 graduate of McKinley High School, and retired in 2005 from AEP, after almost 20 years' service, where he was a project manager. He loved to play golf. His father was killed in the Battle of The Bulge, and Doug proudly served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Doug is survived by his wife, Shirley A. (Hockenberry) Kemp, with whom he celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary on July 26th; one son, Larry (Patricia) Moore, and two grandchildren, Leigha (Tim) Petrosius, and Jillian (Wyatt) Hatter.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, at 10:45 a.m. in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Pastor Keith Stephens officiating, and with Military Honors. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., November 4, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. at La Pizzaria, 3656 Dressler Rd. NW, Canton, OH 44718. The Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
