Dorothy M. "Dot" Wilson

Age 92, of Canton, passed away Wed., Oct. 11, 2017.  She was born May 5, 1925 in Shanesville, OH, a daughter of the late John and Alice (Speelman) Arend, and was a Canton resident most of her life.  Dorothy was a 1943 graduate of New Philadelphia High School.  She was a member of Church of The Covenant, and was an avid bowler for over 50 years until the end of April of this year.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harry D. Wilson, on Oct. 19, 1995, and a son, David Wilson.  She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Tim) Hinten; three grandchildren, Jill (Greg) Miday, Brian Wilson, and Shaun Wilson, and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Ickes, Patty Kaser, and Kathy Kraft; and many nieces and nephews.  Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Church of The Covenant with Rev. Dr. Barbara Johnson officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.  Friends may call Monday 10-11 a.m. before the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to Church of The Covenant, 3014 Fulton Rd.
