Dorothy M. Cable
Age 89, of Sandyville, passed away Thursday afternoon in Aultman Hospital. She was born in Mineral City, a daughter of the late William and Lucy Fry Brinkman, and resided in Sandyville most of her life. Dorothy retired in 1981 from Stoll's IGA in Canton South where she ran the Deli for a number of years, and then was a cashier. Previously she had worked at the Sparta Ceramic Tile Co. Dorothy was a member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Russell D. Cable, on June 23, 1986, and a brother and sister, William Brinkman, Jr., in 1945, and Betty Barkheimer, in 2000. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy and Don Amick, of Lakeland, FL, and Connie Cable, of Sandyville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Kathy Amick, and Jimmy Amick and his wife, Jill, and their daughters, Laura and Katie, all of Lakeland, FL; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lois Swinford, of Sandyville, and Nancy and Joel Black, of East Sparta. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor John Maroni officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville.
