Doris M. White
Age 81, of Canton, passed away Sat. afternoon in Aultman Hospital. She was born in Salem, OH, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Redman Slagle, and had been a Canton resident since 1962, previously residing in Salem and Columbiana. Doris was a 1946 graduate of Goshen High School and had been employed as a home worker for Haines & Co. for 25 years. She had been a member of the former Christ United Methodist Church at 35th St. and N. Cleveland Ave. since 1962, where she was a member of the Evening Angels Circle, the United Methodist Women, and the Wed. morning Bible Study. Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Glenn A. White, on April 25, 2002. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth Ann and Jeffrey Conley, of Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Robin White, of Ankeny, IA, and Greg and Sue White, of Pickerington, OH; her sister, Eleanor McKee, of Canton; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Mandy Wray and her husband, Scott, and their children, Kiley and Alexis, Dan White and his fiance, Kris, and Sarah and Hannah Conley; a sister-in-law and her husband, Carol and Joseph Bush, of Greenford, OH; a brother-in-law and his wife, Larry and Carol White, of Columbiana, OH; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Wed. at 11 a.m. in Church of The Lakes, United Methodist with Rev. Nancy L. Conley officiating. A Committal Service will be held at 9 a.m. Wed. in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home and Wed. 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doris' memory may be made to Stark Federal Credit Union, c/o Dennis White, for her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's education.
