Doris E. Kandel, R.N. Of North Canton, passed away Sunday. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late William and Katherine Hottel Kandel, and was a life resident of this area. Doris was a 1933 graduate of McKinley High School and a 1937 graduate of the Jersey City Medical School of Nursing. She retired in 1972 from the former Nist Geriatric Center, after many years service, where she was a Registered Nurse, and previously worked at the old downtown Mercy Hospital. Doris was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and Canton Chapter of the D.A.R. Preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Otto, and her loving nephew, Art Faber. Survived by her loving niece and caregiver, Norma Faber. Services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Wayne Beachy officiating.
