Doris J. Heggy Age 91, of North Canton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at In Touch Hospice in Somerset, PA. She was born in Louisville, a son of the late Edward and Esther (Richardson) Lazear, and was a life resident of this area. Doris was a 1938 graduate of Louisville High School, a graduate of Mount Union College, and the Aultman Hospital School of Nursing, where she later taught. She had been Head Nurse on the Research Floor at Ohio State University Hospital. She also taught in the East Canton Local School District for a short time. Doris was a member of Louisville Chapter #400, Order of Eastern Star, and the Mount Union Women's Club. Preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Robert F. Heggy, on March 18, 2011. Survived by her son, Ben Heggy, of Champion, PA; one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Edward and Eileen Lazear, of Columbus, OH. Services will be held on Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with her friend Larry Kehl officiating. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery.
