Donn A Hobson,

Age 88, of Canton, passed away peacefully Tues., Oct. 10, 2017.  Born July 27, 1929, in Canton, a son of the late Carl and Loretta (Hostetler) Hobson.  Donn was a retired City of Canton Fire Fighter, Veteran of the US Air Force, and Graduate of McKinley High School.  He was an avid golfer, proud member of VFW Post 3747, member of the Stark County Fast Pitch Hall of Fame, and former member of the Hall of Fame Chorus. Donn had many friends that will remember him fondly.  One of his favorite activities was baseball, in youth as player and later as an umpire for the Canton Youth League. He will be missed by all who knew him.  Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hobson and his sister, Nancy Gatschet.  Survived by his children, Ronda Rosenstein, Donn Hobson II, and Dann Hobson; his step children, Calvin Phillips, and Rick Phillips; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jane Frentzel, and Lynda Weston.  A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Forest Hill Cemetery.  The Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
