Donald L. Steele

Age 85, of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2017.  He was born July 5, 1931 in St. Clairsville, OH, a son of the late Elmer and Edna (Haught) Steele, and had been a resident of the Canton area most of his life.  Don was a 1949 graduate of St. Clairsville High School, and then came to work at The Timken Co., retiring in 1979, after 30 years service, where he was a machinist.  Following his retirement, he was Zoning Inspector for Perry Township, and then was a Bailiff at the Court House in downtown Canton.  He was a member of Church of The Savior, United Methodist.  Don enjoyed taking his wife on cruises, and they went on 42.  He is survived by his wife, Lillian D. Steele, with whom he celebrated their 53rd Wedding Anniversary on July 5, 2016; one son, Attorney William Steele, and his children, Maxwell Steele and Mary Steele, all of Gahanna, OH; one sister, Helen (Charles) Paratore, of San Jose, CA.  According to Don's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.  Contributions in Don's memory may be made to the Stark County Hunger Task Force.  The Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences in Don's memory may be made to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
