Dennis W. Dillon

Age 78 of East Sparta, passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 2021.  He was born March 11, 1943 in Dennison, OH, a son of the late Dwight and Evelyn (Nil) Dillon, and has been an East Sparta resident almost 50 years, previously residing in Mineral City.  Denny was a 1961 graduate of Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg, FL.  He retired from Ohio Edison after over 30 years' service, and after retiring he has been groundskeeper for Sandy Valley Local Schools, at the high school for 21 years.  Denny had attended Whipple Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church many years.  He had coached East Sparta Little League for almost 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Dillon in 1990.  Denny is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diana L. Dillon, one daughter and two sons, Denise (Shawn) Lemmon, Doug (Maria) Dillon, Rodney Dillon, seven grandchildren, Cattleya (Marty) McVicker, Tessa Lemmon, Gavin, Joey, Silas, Lucie, and Toby Dillon.

A Graveside service will be held Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at 2 p.m. in Melscheimer Cemetery with Pastor Scott Praxl officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
