Delmas E. Ring

Age 84, of Canton, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, in the Inn at University Village.  He was born in Monroe County, OH, a son of the late Frank and Lelia (Early) Ring, resided in Canton since 1942, until moving to Massillon in August of 2008.  Del was a 1948 graduate of Timken Vocational High School.  He retired in 1985 from The Timken Co., after 37 years service, where he was a tool grinder, and later worked in the Purshasing Dept.  Following his retirement he was a partner in Brownlee Machine Co. for several years.  He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church where he was on the Property Committee, and helped maintain the church for many years.  Del was a member of McKinley Lodge #431, F. & A.M. and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict with the 11th Airborne Division.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis A. Ring, on Jan. 24, 2012, and four sisters, Virgie Atkinson, Wadena Lowther, Irene Beaver, and Eloise Barkley.  Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and John Frate, of Massillon; three sons, Mark Anderson, of Phoenix, AZ, Tom Ring, of Louisville, and Gordon (Lois) Ring, of Massillon; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Joyce Ring, of Alliance; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Marc Anderson and his wife, Dianna and their children, Peyton and Sedona, Darrin Ring and his daughter, Lexie, Ashley Ring and her fiancé, Ken Perrin, and their children, Kylan and Khloe, and Amy Ring and her fiancé, Judd Lutz.  Services will be held Wed. at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor David deVries officiating.  Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors.  Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m.  Contributions in Delmas' memory may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church, 530 W.
