Dean Mutigli
Age 91, of Waynesburg, passed away Wed., March 12, 2014, in Hennis Care Center in Bolivar. He was born in Waynesburg, a son of the late Joseph and Clorinda (Martinelli) Mutigli, and was a life resident. Dean was a 1940 graduate of Waynesburg High School where he played baseball, basketball and football, and later enjoyed playing golf and bowling. Dean was a sportsman, liking to trap and hunt. He retired in 1990 from Whitacre-Greer Fireproofing Co., after 48 years service, where he worked in almost every department. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Sandy Valley American Legion Post #432, and the American-Italian Club. Dean served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers, Merina DelCorso, Helen Carpino, and Peia Vinci, Evio and Donald Mutigli. Survived by his wife, Clara A. Mutigli, with whom he celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on July 15, 2013; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jim Swartzmiller, of Dover; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Cathy Mutigli, of Waynesburg, David and Karen Mutigli, of Bolivar, and Joseph Mutigli, of the home; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday at 2 P.M. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Fr. Joseph Zamary officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery.
