David S. Zimmerman,

Age 88, of North Canton, passed away Thur., Aug. 24, 2023. He was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Canton, a son of the late Edwin and Anne (Laszlo) Zimmerman.  David was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and retired as an orthopedic salesman.  He enjoyed cooking, traveling and crisscrossing the United States by train with his wife of 59 years.  David's home was always open to family, friends and people he just met.

Preceded in death by his son, Joseph Zimmerman and four brothers and two sisters. Survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Gang) Zimmerman, four daughters, Ursula (Steve) Marrero, Ruth Harris, Monica (Paul) Miller, and Ann (Curtis) Bradford; three sons, David (Ernest Chan) Zimmerman, Damian (Kathy) Zimmerman, and Timothy Zimmerman; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held for David and Joseph on Sat. Sept. 9th at 10:30 am in St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.  Friends may call Friday from 6-8 pm in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.
